Hello. I started learning to play the ukulele in January of 2007 during a trip to Hawaii, when a guy manning the tour train station at the Dole plantation showed me and a few others some basics about an ukulele he was playing at the time. Since then, I've been totally addicted to the ukulele. So, I've decided to keep a blog about ukuleles here. Hopefully I can make some small contributions to the ukulele world while learning to play the ukulele. To kick off the blog, here's a video of me attempting to play Jake Shimabukuro's Let's Dance.

I'm going to assume that you were/are an accomplished guitar player BEFORE you picked up the uke. Right?
Thanks for the comment! Actually, this is my first stringed instrument. My previous musical instrument experience consists of a couple of years of electric organ in elementary school 20+ years ago and a couple of years of trumpet in junior high. I'm my no means musically gifted. The ukulele has been pretty easy to learn and I just enjoy it so much!
Then all I can say is WOW! You really give me hope for my own uke playing!
dude... if you have never played a stringed instrument and learned to play that in less than one year, you got a gift for it man... cause I just picked up a pono tenor mango, and I could barely play a rythmic strum right now... whats your secret? lessons from Jake?... I'm very impressed... WOW!
